Church Order
Lesson #30

There are different works amongst church bodies,
everyone has a different role to play within the body as a whole.

I. THERE ARE DIFFERENT WORKS WITHIN THE CHURCH BODY:
( These Biblical Roles are)

A. Priestly Service ( 2 Kings 23:4)
There leadership role is to Shepard God's flock
( The words Pastors/Elders/Bishops are all interchangeable)

B. Christ's Priesthood ( Ps. 110:4)
There are specially chosen men to serve ( or women) in the ministry in various services.

C. Church Services ( 1 Cor 11:34)
The church holds services for fellowship and edification, and it provides services to members
and/or the community.

D. Church Officers ( Titus 1:5)
In charge of church affairs on various levels.

II. CHURCH ORDER IS FIGURATIVE OF:

A. God's Covenant ( 2 Samuel 23:5)
God sent his son to die for us, he special chose Christians ( Jews are symbolic of us)
to be in Christ's body eternally. Church and its services represent our Holy Union
with Christ and Reverence for God's Mercy.

B. Believer's Life ( Ps. 37:23)
The way we act ( Christ like or not) Is symbolic of our relationship with God, and our level of faith.
We are a product in and outside of church of this church covenant.

C. Man's Sin ( Ps 50:21)
Mans sin caused a need for CHURCH ODER, and church service to be created.
There is a continual need for church, especially as the days get closer to his return.

III. ORDINANCES OR REGULATIONS OF GOD:

Ordinances where established for proper procedures in worshiping God.

These specific Ordained Ordinances are:

1. Ritual Observances ( Heb. 9:10)
God instituted certain festivals, or occasions to be celebrated- they are what we today called
"Jewish Holidays", these are NOT man created- God gave them!

2. Gods Laws ( Isaiah 24:5)
God gave the 10 commandments under the Old Testament Laws, the Laws gave exposure
to sins and allow opportunities to deal with exposed sins.

3. Gods Laws In Nature ( Jer. 31:35)
God has ordinances in nature also, he is in control of ALL nature and has his own reasons
for everything that happen. He also has his own way of doing all things within nature such as,
seasons, nights and days, etc...

4. Mans Regulations ( neh. 10:32, 1 Peter 2:13)
God has allowed man the authority to create needed laws for the lawless people
who are disobedient and keep order within the land.

5. Apostolic Messages ( 1 Cor 11:2)
Our Bible is the final authority for Christians in ALL MATTERS!

6. Jewish Legalism ( Eph 2:15)
The Israelites are still following the Old Testament Laws under the Old Covenant.

III. NECESSARY CHURCH PRACTICES WITHIN THE CHURCH:

A. Baptism ( Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38)
B. The Lords Supper ( 1 Cor 11:23-29)
C. Preaching God's Word ( Romans 10:15)
D. Tithing ( 1 Cor. 16:2)

These 4 things should all be done whenever we assemble together!
