EVANGELISM IN THE LAST DAYS

EVANGELISM OR EVANGELIST DEFINED:

A "Good-Newser" or "Witness".

A Evangelist announces the good news of Jesus Christ ( 2 Tim 4:5),
Preaches the Gospel ( Luke 1:19/Rom 15:20-21/Gal 3:8/Acts 21:8/Luke 9:6)

NOTE:
CHRISTIANS CAN EVANGELIST ANY PLACE THE OPPORTUNITY ARISES ( Acts 8:4)
ALL CHRISTIANS CAN EVANGELIZE BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT ENDOWS SOME
WITH THE SPIRITUAL GIFT OF EVANGELISM ( Eph 4:11)
EVANGELISM IS ZEALOUS PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL, AS THROUGH MISSION WORK.
EVANGELISTS ARE ONES WHO PRACTICE EVANGELISM. THEY PREACH THE GOSPEL,
AND CONVERT SINNERS TO CHRISTIANITY.

Its obvious in today's deterioration of religious morals and values that there is plenty of work
to do for God, but whose going to get it done?

Even Jesus acknowledged the need for more laborers ( evangelists) in Matt 9:37-38.
* Vs. 38 says we NEED to PRAY for more laborers in this ministry!

It is our responsibility as a christian to tell others the gospel of Christ.
( The death , burial, and resurrection, and how it brings salvation if we believe)
We are not to do this all by ourselves.
We as a church body are to help each other, and all support each others special area
of ministry. ( Luke 10:1-2)

We all need to be witnesses as to what Christ has done for us on a personal level and
spread the gospel, lives are at stake! It is a terrible thing to think about what awaits unbelievers
but they need to know their fate! ( Acts 0:2)

I. ABOUT US

A. OUR WAYS
Read 1 Cor 11:14-15
This scripture states that we are to look and act in ways that are honorable to our culture.
In Corinth Paul stressed not to offend others traditions whether they are ours or not if it
keeps peace amongst believers, and doesn't go against God. As a Evangelist you are not
supposed to conform to the ways of the world, MEANING:
1. We are not to adapt unbiblical or ungodly traditions or practices.
2. We are to avoid appearances and behavior that imitates this worlds standards, or
distracts from godliness.
3. Our ultimate goal should be witnessing 4 Christ in words, thoughts, and deeds, and
appearances.
4. We must not offend others customs or beliefs as long as they are not a violation of scripture.

B. OUR FAMILY
Read 2 Tim 1:5
We are commissioned to evangelist to our family.
Evangelizing to our family can make generational differences for the individuals involved
bringing honor and glory to God. Especially ministering and instilling the gospel within
children, ours and others.

C. IN PERSECUTION ( Matt 10:17-18)
Persecution makes a perfect opportunity to tell, live, ans show the gospel.
When we are under persecution the Holy Spirit will use us to speak on God's behalf
bringing repentance, restoration, and glory to God!

II. EVANGELISTIC PRINCIPLES

Read Matthew 2:16-17
THESE WORDS ARE FROM JESUS HIMSELF.
HERE ARE HIS KEY PRINCIPLES TO REMEMBER:

1. ITS THE SCUM THAT NEEDS YOU!

2. NEVER THINK YOU ARE TO GOOD!
( Do not be self righteous)

3. SPEND TIME WITH WHOEVER WILL LISTEN ABOUT JESUS

4. DO NOT NEGLECT THOSE WHO HAVE A BAD REPUTATION,
THEY NEED JESUS THE MOST!

5. MATTHEW 16:15 TELLS US TO ALWAYS BE READY!

III. HOW TO EVANGELIZE

A. EVANGELIST IN DIVISION
Read John 3:25
We are to witness in a non divisive way to others.
People look for something to disagree upon so they can sow seeds of discord,
discontentment, and doubt. People who do this have divisive spirits , or demons.
SOLUTION:
If you stick to what Christ has done, who can argue?

B. EVANGELIZING IN PREJUDICES
Read John 4:7-10
We must overcome all prejudices to evangelist.
If it means us stepping out of our comfort zones, or if it means prejudices against us
we must keep on persevering and trust God.
SOLUTION:
God's word goes forth no matter what we face, Dont expect immediate results!

C. EVANGELIZE IN REJECTION
Read Luke 9:5
Dont blame yourself when others will not listen to you when witnessing.
Not everyone will receive you with a welcome but you have to still do your part and make a effort!
SOLUTION:
If you are not welcomed you are to leave, shaking the dust off your feet, to show that
you have abandoned those people to their own fate.

D. EVANGELIZING ON BAD DAYS
Read Acts 1:8
The Holy Spirit is the one that gives you the words and brings scripture to your remembrance
when you are witnessing. The Holy Spirit assists in every Godly situation.
SOLUTION:
Stay prayed up and rooted in his word, trust in God!

IIII. RISKS OF EVANGELISM

Death and prison , unfair persecution and unfair judgments are all possible realities
for those who are in the ministry, especially those called to mission work.
(Acts 4:3 ) arrest is something Jesus and the Apostles faced, it is a possibility
for all in ministry work.
( Rev 1:9) We may even face situations where we are exiled from our homes, lives,
country, or even land. NO ONE is exempt from suffering in the ministry!
Anyone who thinks that ministry and evangelism is Cadillacs, suits, and million dollar
sanctuaries is a fool. The bible even tells us to count it all joy to suffer for Jesus sake,
it is a honor and a privilege!

V. FINAL POINTS

A. Read Acts 17:22
Were always to find common ground to witness on.
Common ground is not conforming to this world but finding mutual interests and
similarities that you can use to begin your witness.

B. Read Acts 17:23
Never assume church folks , religious people, or Christians know the gospel or Jesus!

C. Read Col. 4:6
Be gracious and have attractive conversations- so you will have the right response for everyone.

D. Read 1 Thess 2: 6-8
Always point to Jesus Christ and not yourself- never seek human praises, give them
direction - to God!
