ENCOURAGEMENT
Encouragement edifies us individually and as a body.
Encouragement inspires us to hope and to have courage through our trials.
Encouragement is the needed support through trying times and fosters positive relationships
within the church and at home. We ALL need to encourage others, and to be encouraged!
1. ENCOURAGEMENT IS NEEDED BY:
A. PROPHETS ( 1 King 19:1-19)
Prophets got discouraged by the wickedness
B. PEOPLE ( Neh 4:17-23)
People get discouraged by circumstances
C. SERVANTS ( 2 King 6:15-17)
Situations can be discouraging
D. KINGS ( 2 Kings 11:10-21)
Positions can be discouraging
E. HEATHEN ( Dan 6:18-23)
Non Christians have nothing to hope for
2. WHO DELIVERS ENCOURAGEMENT
A. ANGELS ( Gen 32:1-2)
Angels are agents of encouragement for God's people
B. DREAMS ( Gen 28:11-22)
Sometimes God uses dreams and visions as tools to encourage his people
C. GOD's PROMISE ( Josh 1:1-9)
God's covenants brings hope and encouragement
D. A FRIEND ( 1 Sam 23:16-18)
Brothers and sisters within the body can bring encouragement
E. A RELATIVE ( Esther 4:13-16)
A Christian relative outside the church can bring encouragement
F) PAUL ( Acts 27:21-26)
Paul is a example of how encouraging scripture can actually be in our lives
3. REASON FOR HOPE
A. RISEN CHRIST ( 1 Cor 15:11-58)
B. PRESENT CHRIST ( Matt 28:19-20)
C. COMING CHRIST ( Luke 21:25-28)
Jesus Christ is the source of all encouragement, his death, burial
and resurrection bring us all hope!
